so i just cut off the tip of my snare finger (right index) at work. the knife went down and my first thought was oh ****, how am i gonna play my mpc?

not to mention type on a keyboard, this shit is irritating as hell.

anyway, just to make this post wrthwhle, how do some of you shondos lay out your drum programs? maybe i can reassemble my kits...

Man that's terrible. One thing that you can try is maybe laying out your programs so that you got the kicks and snares right beside each other so you can play em both with one hand. Like play the kick with your index finger and the snare with your middle or something like that. You can lay the hats separetely. It's a suggestion.

cross the nail. i work at goodwill and i was cutting stretch wrap off a stack of computers. it was one of those serated meat knives, too--mirked it right up to the bone, slantwise. fingertips regenerate so it's no big deal but it'll take weeks before i'm back to normal.

thanks for the well wishes.

damn ant, that sucks, so what your finger tip is going to grow back?

By SukhDee Fri Jul 29, 2005 4:48 am
I'm sorry to hear that man. It's always a shame. But, it isnt the end up the world. I'm banging beats all the time and all my fingers end at the knuckel. 2 are a bit longer.

IMO you really don't have to stress about your drum kits. Just take full advantage of the sequencer.

Hop those hurdles dog.

PEACE.

left thumb - kick - pad 1
left middle finger - snare - pad 5
right middle finger - hihat - pad 3
right ring finger- open hihat - pad 4

That's how i do it.
Maybe you can use a foot switch for your snare or for your kick like a real drummer would.

anyway, get well soon
