44.1khz/16bit wav files are the wav's that MPC likes.
Make sure you are downloading 44.1khz/16bit wav files.

Other than that you can open the wav's in a wave editor
and resave them as 44/16, then load into your MPC, also
the wave editor can tell you what sampling rate and bit
rate the file is exactly.

Hope that helps.

MPCs will load up samples with samplerates other than 44.1 - it just pitches them up/down to 44.1

I would imagine the issue here is the format of WAV you are using. There are many formats of WAV file, the MPC only recognises PCM wavs. If you right click on a WAV file in a PC and select 'properties', then 'summary' it will tell you the 'audio format'. This must say PCM - if not, you'll need something like Soundforge to convert it. Other formats include ADPCM, MPEG layer 3 and GSM.

PCM is the most widely used.

Most importantly, you need to make sure that your waves are 16 bit. Using whatever software you have capable of converting bit rates load and resave with a 16 bit rate.
