Multiple Pitchs of the Same Sample

Question- In my OS 2.XX I used 2 be able 2 load the same sample in2 different pads and the 60 automatically increased the pitch by 1 increment i.e. C, C#, D, etc. Is there any way 2 do this on OS 3.1 without altering the source sample? I have read the manual but there does not appear 2 be a way 2 do it. I know that I could pitch the sample up and load it that way but that seems unnecessarily redundant. This was a cool feature on the old OS... u could play basslines, hits or stabs with the pads. That and the midi sample dump r the only features I miss on the 3.1 OS. -uno-

I'm not too clear on your question. Are you asking if OS 3.10 enables you to pitch a sample across all 16 pads?

If that's the case then yes. Just press 16-Levels, press the pad that hold the sample that you want to spread chromatically, choose your root pad (Center pad, anywhere between pad 10 and 13) and you're off.

The original sample won't be altered once you press 16 Levels again to disengage the function.

16 levels is cool for manipulating different pitches, but if I'm not mistaken this cat here should probably just put the same sample on however many pads and then adjust the tuning for each pad in increments of +10 or -10. That is how you do it without 16-levels from my experience.

I'm curious about this too, if you load the same sample to two pads, you can't tune it differently than the origirnal without copying and renaming it, thus taking up double the memory.

With 16 levels you don;t really need to do it, but curious if you can do this somehow.

I'll have 2 mess with the 16-levels when I get bacc 2 the lab. If I remember correctly, 16-levels only adjusted 4 volume when I tried it. Maybe I need 2 do the chromatic formatting... makes the notes play in order as opposed 2 randomly. I saw it described in another post but didn't see the use 4 it at the time. Good looks all 4 the responses. I'll post again when I experiment successfully. -uno-

you must assign 16 LEVELS to a function...

If you're on the Old OS (2.xx) then you have to go to a different screen to set 16 levels to adjust pitch, otherwise, on 3.10 you just go to where it says velocity with the cursor and scroll through the options.

Thanks all. I figured out how 2 switch from velocity 2 tuning as yall indicated. Just what I needed. -uno-
