Where can I get a quartz locked cassette player? That would be my only beef, every cassette player I ever owned would change the speed slightly. Not enough to ruin the listening experience, but enough to make something technically out of key. That's why I would go the video route. But then you'd probably need a broadcast grade tape machine. Just a thought.

Imma look into it. Just seems too easy to affordably incorporate analog tape into your chain to not try it.

Speaking of converters, the cranesong hedd is suppost to give good resulsts with its tape and tube emualiton as well as stellar converters. I use my apogee trak 2, and its soft saturation and soft limit features wich sound okay.

i do this with a 4 head vcrand stereo ins and outs, this is how i record my set's when i play on the radio, you can record four to six hours on a vcr tape and it sounds great, i have to hook up my vcr , it been packed away since i moved about four months ago

well uad is coming out with the space echo for the uad-1 in a few months. in order to model the space echo they need to model tape saturation because it is a tape delay. all of their models are excellent so i would imagine if u turn the echo off that we would get someserious tape sat. i am getting it the first day it comes out and will let y'all know.

I record in SP mode, because I want the best possible quality for mastering purposes, but yeah, for a radio set I'm sure the longer rec speeds work well!
