Looking for a good turn table

I was looking to get some records and a good turntable for sampling on the 3000, I was wondering what you guy are rockin or if there are any suggestions or tips, thanks.

Word, if you're just sampling then any turntable with pitch control should do the trick. I would just go for a cheap Gemini or Numark to handle the task.

However, make sure that you splurge on some good needles as those will dictate your sampling quality more than your turntable. Perhaps some Shure WhiteLables or some Ortofons.

However there are some high-priced audiophile carts on the market. You should Google the topic to see what's out there that meets your quality needs and fits within your budget.

BTW, I rock Technics 1200's cuz I dj too. They're built like tanks (like the MPC60/MPC300) and are also the standard in turntables.

so i wont need a mixer if i'm just using it for samping, right?

you will need either a DJ MIXER, or a PHONO PRE-AMP... unless your TT has a LINE LEVEL OUTPUT, which MOST TTs DO NOT have... basicly TTs have a VERY LOW OUTPUT VOLTAGE(or whatever its called), so you need an amplification of that signal to bring it up to a LINE LEVEL signal... anything labeled "PHONO INPUT" will have a PHONO PRE-AMP... you may have a PHONO INPUT on your home stereo or receiver, but if not you will need either a DJ MIXER, or a PHONO PRE-AMP... id suggest a cheap model DJ MIXER, since you can utilize it for a bit more than just a PHONO PRE-AMP...

I was looking at a used Numark TTX, I wouldnt need a pre-amp or anything? just a good needle.

Actually you will need a mixer because you're going to need to adjust your levels when you're sampling. Turntables don't have adjustable preamps to handle that task. So yes, get a cheap mixer and you're on your way.

But yep, definitely start researching some good needles.

you are going to need EQ too. I definitely suggest going with a DJ Mixer.

if you are looking to use a turntable just for sampling...you're better off just copping a portable turntable. i have a numark pt-1..works great, you can do some basic scratches on there and you don't require a mixer.

if you feel though you need to eq the record a bit, then copp a turntable with a mixer

not that i would ever get it but does anyone know the deal with the qbert qfo? it haas a mixer and 2 volume comtrols but just one record player, kinda weird, any good suggestions for a mixer?
