my mpc is a week old and i got an error message the other day. i just resampled something and went back to the main screen. right after that i went to do somethin else and the message poppedup. it read: Error 0035: and the something after that. i hit the main screen again and the a screen came up with several lines of "code" on it that looked like this:

AX: 000C SI: 6E22 DS: SI=> FF FF FF FF FF *****
BX: 002C DI: 71F2 DS: DI=> FF FF FF FF FF *****, and so on down the screen. at the bottom above the function keys it said:

SEQ RUN STEP MEMORY above the F3-F6 keys respectively. does anyone know what this means or know why it happened. is it an OS problem or what. any info would be much appreciated. thanks

p.s. its an MPC 2000XL

That was a crash. Usually this happens when either you leave the MPC on for extensive hours. The other time this happens is usually when your MPC gets a midi signal that cconfuses the MPC and causes it to try and reboot itself.

Welcome to the MPC2000xl. :P

To be honest, the O/S is full of bugs and there are any number of things that will make this thing crash. I've reloaded the O/S and everything on mine, and it still crashes here and there. Just SAVE early and often.

Do I love it anyway? Hail yeah.

Until AKAI corrects the bugs you're still prone to having that problem resurface. However, like stated before this is just one of the software glitches in the O.S. we all have to deal with at one time or another. Some more than others. :?

yeah, those bugs wont be a nuisance at all to you...for instance before you posted I practically forgot that the MPC had any being that noone ever really talks much less complains about them...in order for it to truy get in your way, you would pretty much hafta be doing the same thing constantly...other than that you'll be able to live with it....dont stress it...
