Can reason compete with an Mpc? (sound quality)

Any reason track on a major label release has seen serious processing.

All releases Ive done have seen more than there share.

THE MPC Timing Is a bit Tighter But IN REASON U HAVE MANY MORE OPTIONS and The Sound Quality CAN BE Jus' as GOOD If not BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if the timing issue is such a concern, just use the mpc to sequence your reason sounds. the sequencer in reason sounds stiff and lifeless to us because we're so used to the mpc.

thats what i do. I dont like reasons sequncer at all. Hook the mpc up to it and just use it like u would use a racksampler.

timing problems with software r a result to sound cards and midi interfaces not the program itself.

u can tell some tracks are made with rsn from the poor sounds. u can smell them sounds...urgh....

Reason is a software with sound bank intergated, mpc is just a drums machine sampler,without sounds.
It's not better or bader, you have to now where you wanna go, get your own sound or use software sound bank,you wanna sample or you wanna play your shit.
Average people(even advanced heads) can not make the difference bettween a beat made on a pc or on a mpc2000.
But i can recognise a beat made with reason (if you use the sounds build in)
I use reason for the bass tone, sometime for rhodes ans stuff like that(really minimal).
Reason is a dope software but it still sound to synthetic to me.

you have to treat the sounds in reason like you'd treat the sounds in your keyboard. you have to tweak the sounds so they don't sound like they came from a keyboard. for those of us who have the uncanny ability to smell sounds get some nose plugs and start tweakin

it's the quantize presents in the reason sequencer frustrate me beyond belief.

you don't have to use the presets in reason. that's why they make refills. you can find better sounds for reason all over the net. propellerheads even provide free software(for legit users of reason) to convert akai S1000 and S3000 formatted disks into the nnxt format
reason has really sped up my production. that's just me though.
don't discredit reason's sounds and abilities if you haven't atleast tried it for yourself. if you can't make it work for you, who cares. just do what works for you.
