After having to let a bunch of gear go ... ( including the ASQ-10 )

I should be picking up an MPC-60 soon.

The one my target site is set on appears to be running 2.14 of the OS and has SCSI fitted.

Will probably upgrade it with OS 3.10 not long after

Then ... hmmm. 2+2 =

Of course ... I'll probably get distracted making beats first but hey, you get that with these MPC things ...

my only request at this time is to be able to start and STOP sample recording upon a push of a button... the way it is now with 3.10e you have to set the duration of the sample time, which is easiest by sampling long and then truncating the sample down to desired length... even though you will have to probably truncate the sample later anyways, i think it would be much more intuitive to be able to STOP the recording of a sample with a button push... itd be nice to have a choice of the two... im not sure if something like this is even possible... just a thought...

I think that is possible somehow, not sure.

Luckilly you already know the 3.10 OS pretty well having used the 3k and read it's code damn that's so hardcore!

I would suggest a MK I but it sounds like you're in line for a mk II, doesn't matter so much really.

Let me know if you need a go between when Roger Linn see's you ordering a 3.10 and says "Oh no you don't!!!"


You won;t miss that asq 10 much at all

if it has 2.12 it def. doesnt have scsi installed...it looks like a midi port but its really the useless old RS-232 port, dont get fooled! ive seen a few sold "with midi" that were just this pointless port...your mpc may infact be portless.

It is an original MK1 fitted with a (SCSI BOARD apparently), MEMORY UPGRADE and 2.14 of the OS ( not 2.12 ) ... apparently it was owned by some gear nut in the day.
