Well last year I worked for a carpeting company and I got a fantom. Back then I was into the synthy keyboard beats. But I sold the keyboard and changed my style. 8)

I think grimay take it seriously, tht's it! he's young, but knows what he wants...
crate o records, a drum machine, a rack sampler, a sound module and a recorder is the minimum if you take it seriously...

tht's not having "alot" of gear...

No, the minimum if you take it seriously is:

A sampler (AKA: MPC 2000xl)
A sequencer (AKA: MPC 2000xl)
Something to sample (AKA: Vinyl, CD's, TV, tapes, etc.)
Something to record your music on (AKA: Tape deck, PC, 16 channel mixing board)

Sound modules and a rack sampler are nice amenities, but hardly NECESSARY

All I'm sayin' I couldn't afford all that sh!t now, never mind 10 years ago when I live with moms. Must be nice :?

depending on your prod style, and it's still isn't "alot of gear"

... PC as a recorder means tht you have to buy softs & plugs (more gears),a 16 channels mixing board will not allow you to RECORD your tracks...
a DSP12 will + already got the FX (plugs)....
