What did you do when......

...you got your MP?

Aside from reading the manual, did you sample first? Did you hook all your other gear to it? This is something of a stroll down memory lane type of thread. So leave your thoughts!

i think i wired it and then it pushed the power button. that's an amazing workflow for the first time of usage!

I hooked it up to my MIDI keyboard and CD-ROM and made an all-samples-on-one- track, 3 sequence "song". DAMN I wish I still had that beat. Erased it due to lack of disk space (was using floppies at first)

i turned it on and pressed all the buttons...found myself in the mixer screen, got lost and ended turning it off and reading the manual.....

i made some shitty beat with the stock sounds

i sampled first....well i tried to anyway

I used those sounds that came with it and made something terrible.

I loaded some drum sounds that came with it. And sampled a loop. Then had to stop and figure out how to make a beat with the sounds.

figured out how to navigate and flipped a beat off of this nancy wilson sample

Tested it out with a mic, then took it apart and cleaned it.

i just used some of the samples of a disk i had to make a few simple drumbeats, then got lost and had to study the manual for a week.

i sampled my self doing drum sounds with my mouth then i sequenced it.
