Read the manual, and then loaded some stock sounds and tried to make a beat. Unfortunately I had to go back to the manual again.

stared at that joint for like a half hour then made some shyyty azz loop with stock sounds. then that night i sampled the bass intro from o'jays, money, money money. I think i had just watched the kings of comedy or some ish. drove my landlady up the wall and had to move my setup from bedroom #2 out into the living room.

i hooked it up, sampled some wax and made a 6 or 7 track beat. Luckily i messed with this mpc for a lil bit before my boy sold it to me. I know for a fact i got that beat still. I dont know what i named it though

power supply fizzled when i turned it on! oh well, i got to study the manual till i got it fixed.

I remember reaidng the manual on the way home from the train. I Loaded some drums into it and got them on the pads alond with some random sample. Listened to my beat and got the sudden dreaded thought I'd wasted my money

Found out that I could not get global mode to rember my preferences. Bad chip...Shipped it back to California. Read the freakin manual 10 times in the three weeks it took to get the MPC back. Was able to hit the ground runnin due to all the reading... I Bought it used so I'm not sure if the sounds on the hard drive were stock but there were some pretty good samples on it. Nothing wrong at all with the African percussion...I've used it on some advertising and the ad agency guys (and gals) loved it. Sure they're vanilla, but they're clean with good decay. It's not the sample anyway - it's the music you make with it. Bob Marley never would have made the first hit if recording quality were an issue...
