mysteriously missing .all and .pgm files!

OK, here's what's happened (twice): After a session on the MPC, I saved my .pgm and .all files to my zip disk. Then I shut off my MPC. I wanted to edit the .wavs used in the program, so I went back and edited some .wavs in the PC, saved these and replaced their older versions on the zip disk, and when I booted up my MPC, said .pgm and .all files were nowhere to be found.

Does adding or replacing .wavs in a folder on the zip disk eradicate .all and .pgm files? Should I turn off the zip drive before turning on my MPC or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't feel I should go any further until I know the work I do will be available for recall.

I do what you are talking about all the time and I have never had any problems like what youare stating. I save my wav's on MPC to my internal ZIP and then go back to PC, edit, whatever else, then resave back on the same ZIPdisk, take it back to my MPC and I have the edited versions. There are maybe a couple of things that could have happened, Did you resave the wav as a different name? If you did then the PGM doesn't recognize that wav cause you changed the name. Did you use any filenames longer than 8 characters? The XL will shorten and rename wav's longer than 8 characters, also then the PGM will not recognize it as being part of the compilation PGM. Make sure you resave as 16bit.
