please list the functions of the mpc 2000xl which you DONT use very often.

also give reasons. (eg. maybe there is a function which does the same thing but better)

I never use the 'auto chromatic assignment.' - 16 levels is enough for me.

Never use the next sequence key. - Just no use for it.

I never use step edit, but I'm trying to learn how.

Auto Punch
MTC
MMC

I think I have pretty much used everything at one time or another but these are the ones that I have NEVER used.

I use Auto Chromatic assign ALOT though when making basslines. That is probably my favorite function, or in the top 3 perhaps.

I use NV slider and MAIN SCREEN EDIT alot also. I know you said "never/don't use" but I love these functions so much I had to throw them out there.

OH - OH, and MOD and FILTER on the EB16. Those are VERY welcome guests in my home as well.

What up Forest?

You gotta have the FX board loaded to use the Mod & Filter.

It's basically a way to add some FX to your samples like reverb, echo, filter, and mod. Comes in handy sometimes, goes for around $300. There are some other threads that go more in depth. Search for EB-16 in the forums.

If you don't have the EB16 you won't see them. If you have if installed use M1 or M2 as the FXSEND then go to FXEDIT and find your M1 or M2 you have just set in place and highlight the MOD or FILT and hit OPEN WINDOW.

I never use the slider. I understand EVERYTHING but no matter how many times I read that manual I still can't get it to work nor really see it's purpose. Maybe I'm just stupid but I just can't work it.

MTC - (what's the benefit, i can use my midi software without them)
MMC

Auto Chromatic - (Hey Lampdog how does this help you when creating Bassline, what does it actually do?)

Insert Event - (about to figure out how to use this feature with keyboard to have mp remember BANKS being used on keyboard)
