Get the 3000. :D

I suggest that you do a lot more research before you make that decision. It's obvious that you haven't done enough.

You are in the MPC60/3000 forum so obviously people are going to tell you to get the 3000 (even those who don't even own one). They are not going to be the ones making beats with it, YOU are.

Check this site: http://www.mpc3000.com/mpc_vs_mpc.htm

It gives you a comparison between the MPC3000 and MPC2000. Read it then download the manuals for both machines to see which ones have the features that you value the most.

Never rely on others to make important decisions for you.

this thread made me come up with a totaly different question:
why is there no 3000 bible? :(

orange xl.... sounds like a bag of puke.

1150 is a good price for a 3k a gee is a bad price for a xl. plus the money youll have to spend to repaint it.

I think you should listen to what bassline said. Check the manual on both..go to Guitar Center and see if you can mess with a 2kxl and a 3000 (sometimes they have used ones). I've had both so I would most definately go with the 3k but you'll have to find out for yourself.

jump on that 3k, they usually go for more than that stock, not mod'ed... $1000 is a bit too much for a 2k also... also, imma go out on a limb here and say that beside the 2k's waveform editing, the 3k would be easier to learn on for a beginner, just a more intuitive OS if you ask me...

Ya'll are right about me doing more research. However,i am a very experienced and knowledgeable musician,im feeling the pressure of this immediate sale. Im also looking at an asr 10 for $700. (it has the blue screen),ive never played with one for a long time tho

3k all day. To me, it sounds better than the 2kxl. 3k and ASR-10 would be a nice little setup.

That is an insane price for the 3000, Jump on it, you won;t be sorry. The Orange XL is one of the ugliest ones and hard to sell, 1000 is too much, get the 3000, you will not regret it.

because you have a functioning help button!

And you could sell it for alot more than you bought it.
By L. Tombstone Fri Aug 05, 2005 5:36 pm
...you could turn around and make $50 selling for $1,200 no problem. Anyway, cats knew L. Tombstone was 'gon have to come around and say: GET THE 3000 NO QUESTION, THE HELL WITH THE G.I. JOE FIREFLY 2000XL!! Naw, but seriously the 3000 is just built better, sounds better and even has the creator's signature on it...what could be better??

to sum up:

You don't have anything to lose to buy the 3K, but you could potentially lose alot with that 2K
