MPC and VS 1824 CD set up?

Anyone using the MPC and Roland VS 1824 CD together? If so, what is the best way to set these up together and record back and fourth so to speak. Basically I want to use my MPC as my main/master sequencer and still be able to send my tracks out to the VS. Although I have the manuals for both could someone put it simple terms for me. And lastly how do you set the tempo or at least loop function? I know I just ask a lot of ISH, but a littlle feedback would be cool. THANX

Id imagine it would be like using the Digi001, so far as me and a couple of other folks here are sequencing complete beats on the MPC and then slaving the MPC to the tracker through MMC to lay down the tracks bar by bar. After that I go in on ProTools (your VS) and undo the grid, layer tracks, add compression and EQ, etc.

So what you got to do is hook up the midi out on the VS to midi in 2 on the MPC, tell your VS to send MMC to the MPC, record enable a track, then go to the MPC hit shift+9, enable receive MMC, then press play on the VS and it should record how ever many bars you specified, if you have the 8 outs you can do 8 tracks at a time. Thanks for the feedback, I've been able to record into the VS I just couldn't seem to sync them together without using a 4bar lead in for each track.The VS got too many effects and mixing capabilities to just go to waste. Even though I don't want to record all my MPC tracks on one track at that one track at a time thing is a bore.

yeah homie, you gotta get over that laziness, i was recorded straight mixes to pro tools and wavelab when i first started messing with these computers, but when i got over the whole "this is boring" thing, my beats started to come up in quality.

Hello all....

I got the vs1880... I just dump my completed songs into a seq... seperate the tracks (I only got two outs on my MPC... all I need!!!) I then slave the MPC by MidiClock (...and enable MMC) to the Vs1880 (Master) set the tempo map up Mine's usually one set value so I never have to get complicated.... I then mute the tracks on the mpc I don't want recorded and go for what I know.

Good luck... it should be in the back of you Vs 1824 how to slave a machine to the Vs 1880 via Midiclock and your settings for the MPC is just Slave for Midiclock and enable MMC (I just do that I figure it translates other functions to the MPC like go to zero... maybe it don't do crap).
