Blown fuse on Vestax mixer....lost cause?

Idiot last night at a party plugged my mixer into the wrong power supply and blew the fuse on my mixer, now it dont turn on, is all hope lost or can things like this be fixed easily, im no electrician so a heads up would be much appreciated.

fuses are easy, open it up take it out (looks like a glass tube with metal caps) bring it to radio shack and match it to a replacement.

i talked to an electrician friend today and he was saying that I have to reverse the plolarity. **** shit.

That doesn't make sense, I had a Vestax mixer blow a fuse once also and when I opened it it didn't have one of the little glass cylinder fuse's, it had a fuse that looked kind of like a small resister that a friend hooked me up with but I soldered it in. If the fuse is blown that means it got burned and it doesn't carry a current anymore, reversing it won't help unless you're problem isn't the fuse but something else.

he opened it up there is no fuse, the transistor chip 9the round thing) is burned so unless we can find a replacement chip for that part its hopeless.
