Why was the Drums From Hell thread deleted?...

I know your trying to sell your own kits tutor but people were actually responding well to that thread and I got something out of it and I am probrably going to purchase it. I could understand if it was straight spam that people were bashing and asking for it to get deleted but I thought it could probrably help some people out. If that thread got deleted how come the threads pertaining to the Mv-9000whatever roland mpc clone and the Sp-303 or Sp-505 threads didn't get deleted since they are advertising different products? I think you should have at least moved it to the off topic area.

I'm interested in any sample-CD for the MPC4k, especially the ones offered on CDz.
I like what I've heard from MPC-Tutor's CDz but the demo mp3z are way to short to get an opinion (and Drum Anthology Vol1 has no demo at all). As with the DFH I also wonder bout the mapping of the sounds when using a keyboard (I guess I could have mailed a question but I do it now instead). Also interesting is if they are available on CD and why only PayPal is offered as payment (I personally hate PayPal and will never sign up for it).

Okay, here we go again...

First off, I emailed the guy who wrote the thread and explained the situation and he understands completely.

Secondly - THIS IS A COMMERCIAL SITE THAT SELLS SAMPLES! Why the hell should I allow other sample CD manufacturers advertise their products FOR FREE on these forums - forums which cost a fortune to host - we currently have over 30,000 page views every day, let me tell you that means a heck of a lot of bandwidth charges - where do you think that money comes from?

I have spent nearly three years building this site, I am not going to allow other companies to make money off the back of all my hard work. Do you think all the other sample CD companies would let me spam their forums (oh yeah, they dont provide forums for you guys in the first place!)

This site is a free resource for you guys - but it aint free for me, so I need to make money from the samplepack sales to keep it running. Hence there is no third party sample CD company advertising allowed - sorry if you don't like that, but since when do commercial companies allow their competitors to advertise in their own back yard???!!!

Because these guys are not my competitors, they are AKAI's competitors. This site is not run by Akai, I have no affiliation to them whatsoever. I do not sell samplers and sound modules, hence I have no problem with people talking about them on these forums.

Many of the demos contain 8 - 10 actual full quality samples from the actual packs - we can't really give away any more than this. All the new loop collection mp3 demos are around 1 minute long and contain several beats from the packs.

Could you be a bit clearer as to how you prefer to see the demos on the site?

All multisample packs are mapped out in chromatic order so will play in correct order on a keyboard.

MPC-Tutor: Wow! That's what I call improvements! 2Phat demo is 2 secs, Mutha Drums demo is 4 secs and the rest (HipHop Hats, Phat Drums & Drum Anthology Vol1) have no demos at all. These are the ones I've checked out. If I may speak for myself I'd rather have round a minute of programmed beats as a demo then a few samples (but mebbe that's just me). I am considering all these as a pack on CD. I haven't checked the other samples yet and I don't think I should before stacking up some dough first...

I'd rather have the sounds cause you can actually put them to use before buying them.

Not sure what you mean about Anthology, HHHats and Phat Drums? All three of those packs have demos which I just checked and all download fine and contain 8 - 12 actual samples from the packs - I don't see what the problem is? Certain competitors of ours will sell you a floppy containing 25 sounds for $9.99, while we give away nearly that much for free!

Okay, the other demos you mention are just a 4 bar loop - but you can still see what's possible from those four bars. On the new site, all the demos will be of a similar style to this one, which is a minute long and is basically a mini track

This is the demo for a new loop pack we'll be releasing called Narcotic Breaks.

AH, when I say "demo" I mean a produced sequence with sounds, not one sound/sample. I like the 4 bar loops better than just samples so I can hear how they blend together in a programmed beat (but it seems I might be the only one thinking that way).

We actually prefer the idea of a sequenced demo, for much the same reasons, which is why we're moving towards this for the new site.
