is the 1000 more for use with computer?

im sorry i dont know too much about the mpc's but im wondering, is the mpc 1000 more for use with the computer? cause im going to be using either the xl or the 1000 and i will have no computer access at all, so im wondering which to go with

You can use each version of MPC with no PC at all with no problem, but when/if you get a PC it will help speed many things along with your MPC.

With no SCSI, the only way to transfer CDROM sounds into your MPC1000 will be via computer, so no computer could be an issue. You cannot hook up USB drives to an MPC1000 as it is a USB slave device itself.

Out of the two, an MPC2000XL is more suited to non-computer users.
