I've been using one hit drum sounds for a while, but lately i've been finding a lot of dope breaks, and I want to start using the breaks as they are. However, I'm having difficulty matching the tempos of the sample i'm using to the tempo of the break. I'm using an Asr-10, and I would like to figure out how to do this without using a computer program. I know it's possible cause I've heard Kanye use that same damn drum loop on just about everything he produces, and Dre has used a lot of breaks on his stuff.
So far, I've tried chopping the sample and the break into equal l beat sections and re-assembling them with the sequencer, but this hasn't been too successful. Is this possible without using timestretch? Any suggestions?
