This may be an odd question but, do you guys find it easier to create just one program with ALL the sounds used for a beat or do you make seperate programs (such as: one with percusion, another with bass, strings, etsc) and use multiple programs for one beat?

Which do you do? and what are the advantages/disadvantages for that method?

I put all my drums in a program labeled drums then everything else goes into a program labeled samples. I like to keep it basic.

every zoned sample has its own program

drums have their own program(s!!), because i often use multiple drumsets.

all pgmed instruments...have their own programs.

i seldom make a song with fewer than 15 programs....more organized.

Really make sure the samples that you choose are perfect, if your going to limit yourself to one program. So one program is not the technique that I would suggest. I think either way could work...try both and see what you like best.
I use multiple programs, because I don't want to limit myself.
