Wondering if anybody out there has or knows of a good bass program for the MPC 1000 (preferably free, but pay would also be ok) I'm finding that it's very easy for me to program drums and loop a sample, and then it comes to making that more of a song and I get stuck because I don't have anything for adding basslines (microKorg but thats basically garbage). I know I can sample basslines or even single bass sounds and use that, but sometimes it comes down to me being lazy and wanting to use a pre-made program. Can anybody recommend or direct me to some good kits. I imagine this would be cheaper than buying another keyboard and if I really want keys (instead of pads) then I can use a keyboard by using MIDI out of the MPC.

basically sine wave is all you need. but that's the bottom, layer that with
some funky basses.

There is a program that comes with your MPC called R_Bass. I've been using it and I think it's good. You just have to use filters though or else it sounds like shit.

makign basslines in in my opinion the best part, constructing basslines is highly influencial on the end product, can make or breakl yuour beat

dont get lazy and find premade ish

how does that work out anyways, i mean sometime you can luck out as it will compliment your track, but isn't that lucking out

unless you start with the bassline, and work around that. either way dude, get creative

i think that most of the bass sounds i like are pretty similar

maybe i'm just boring but with a lil filter, eq, distortion whatever i think i can use one bass sound for like any track......almost

I agree...but there's like 5-7 that I would like as my main basses, but pretty much can use any of them in any song.
