I actually have two questions. First, On my 2000xl, I can make a sequence and use a sample set to 16 levels (tuning). When I try to play the same sequence on a friends 4000, the 16 levels are not recognized in reference to tuning. It only plays the sample at the original tuning setting. Anyone know what I mean? HELP!!!!

Second, when loading my 2000xl programs and sequences on to a friends 4000, after the first program is loaded, and I want to load another program and sequence, the sequence loads fine. THE PROGRAM DOESN'T!!! It alsways keeps the sounds from the previously loaded program. When I go to the "KG MIX" section (I think that's what it's called), there are question marks beside each sample/sound. I end up having to turn the 4000 off, turn it back on and proceed from there. HELP!!!!!

I found this reply on http://pub52.ezboard.com/fdpsworldfrm5.

The MPC4000 does not have the same "16-Tunings" feature as the other MPCs. The 16-LEVELS key controls only 16 levels of velocity.

On the MPC4000, this is achieved differently. Since only the MPC4000 offers a full-featured sampler instead of a "Drum sampler", it is possible to create KEYGROUP programs that contain samples spread accross a range of notes (as opposed to the "one sample per note" structure of DRUM programs).
All you need is to select such a KEYGROUP program, for instance with only one keygroup/sample across the entire key range, and select the CHROMATIC mode for the PAD ASSIGN.

However, because the original 16-Tunings has been requested by many MPC4000 users, this will be added back in a next OS update.

Big up, IChiOne.
