I INSTALLED MY ECHO MIA SOUNDCARD IN MY COMPUTER AND.....

I installed all the drivers and shit. I attached the outs of my mpc, to the in's of the soundcard. Then, i attached the outs of the soundcard to my monitors. I press play in my mpc, and i hear the sound perfectly coming out of my monitors. But when i go to record it in a program, it just records nothing. Maybe the program needs to be set to something particular?? I can either use cool edit or cubase, so if anyone has any suggestiions, im all ears .

Make sure the Echo Mia is selected as the playback and recording device in CE and Cubase. In CE click on the Options tab> Settings> Devices.
I'm not sure how to do it in Cubase but it should be pretty much the same.

Echo cards have that little mixer window where you can see if the sound is coming in. I would check to make sure that you input gain is up in that little mixer screen. Also try what cooocooo1 said. If it stil doesn't work I would try reinstalling you drivers. I just upgraded my Mia to a new upgrade and i had to do it like twice before it worked. Check if your Media Player in Windows will play. If it is playing sounds then you should be able to record also . Good Luck.

In Cubase go to Device setup -> vst multitrack and select the asio driver of your soundcard. I'm pretty sure that's not it though, if you didn't do that already you could not monitor.
And if your soundcard has a Direct monitor button, make sure that's turned off as well
