back up all your file right now, then get a new drive, or better yet a card reader.

yeah its an Internal so I guess Im just gonna have to replace it. Does this shit happen often or is there anything you can do to prevent it happening again?

woah.. I'm now looking at that card reader online from searching the forums, that can plug into my MPC? All I know is it says system requirements PC, I run all my recording Into my Mac. or is that Fine cause its only a new drive for the MPC rather than the zip.? and if you wanted to transfer anything from computer into the MPC how the hell would you get anything on those little cards? sorry I've never really seen one of these before.
Thanks tho for continuing to get my MPC off the stretcher.
I appreciate it alot.

You transfer data from your computer to the card via a usb card reader you connect to your PC/MAC.

yeah, you can buy these usb card readers for around 20 bucks..... work with mac and pc.

I have this one for my Mac and an internal for my PC. I've had no problems transfering and backing up on either machine.

now the image I posted is the card reader for your computer..... you will need a separate card reader for the MPC. Most people use an internal card reader. There are several threads on what works and the install. To install one you will have to remove the bottom panel of the MPC and disconnect the Zip and connect the card reader.... it should be fairly simple since you have the zip because you won't have to cut any wires and solder the power supply like I did (floppy to reader reader install).

Search the forums for Card + Reader + install with the plus signs included.

Holla back if you need more info.

my signature contains a link to a installation guide + the link to the shop where I bought the card reader.
