MICS

Ok I understand theres 2 types of mics, condensor and dynamic...what's the one used for like Concerts, and the ones used for recording in a booth in a studio, and whats the difference and why are different mics used in the different settings?

Actually there are MORE Than 2 Types................................


But For now Lets Keep it Simple............................


Dynamics ALA the SM58 (shure) are Safe to DROP or Use in a Sound Filled Environment..................Also The Rerquire no Pre Amp while You Could Use one U Don't Need one........................


Condensers on the other hand can be very Funny depending on the Pre Amp set up the --- Room temperature --- Sound environment----ETC.....


Hence IS Why most Are Used in a more Conrtolled Area...............

There ARE RIBBON MICS and OTHERS ..................................


NOW there ARE THREE Companice THAT MAKE MIC that I PERSONALLY always Have TRUSTED.............SHURE, AKG and AT or Audio Technica It Seems Fine to ME....................................But this MIC IS FOR BASS and KICK drums.............................

In that Price Range I'd Suggest the AKGC414 or the C414B..............

For a start dynamic mics have a lower output than condensers, so they are more in need of a pre. You should always use a pre if you want good results. Condensers usually need phantom power, unless they have their own power supply.

Learning about mics is a pretty big subject, this forum isn't going to be the best place to get good information.

I don't think any mic SHOULD be dropped, BUT if some @sshole wants to spike that sh*t like a football out of frustration, better an SM58 than something you actually care about!!!

A 200$ mic for recordin bass and drums

I mean I know Britney Spears records on a 5000$ mic, and drums take up more in the mix than vocals (more improtant), so I dont get it

Actually, it's $500 and it's two mics, one cond one dyn in the same enclosure. With mics more expensive isn't always better, it's about matching your mic with your sound source. The SM57 is the most used mic for recording guitars and it's one of the cheapest decent mics you can buy.

I'm using the Shure SM58, got no problems with it... My next one will B the NT1

DROP A SM57 or 58 1 or 2 times pick it up in Dust it off................

DROP A Condenser MIC once or twice PRAY an IT MAY Workout..............
