MPC 2000 use with elec guitar questions!!!

1st post and Let me say that this is a great site and people on here seem to get down to the nitty gritty and help you out. Anyways I got a

MPC 2000 and I had it about 3 months, but of course I'm no expert and still learning the ropes. I got a Korg Karma keyboard and I'm learning to
play the guitar.

The question is: how can I utilize my guitar with the MPC setup. I could be a lot more creative with my beats if I build the drum pattern around a guitar riff, it just gives more room for me to expand.
Do I need a mixer or am I not utilizing MIDI correctly???
Please explain in full I'm no expert, I'm just tryin to get to the next level.

sample your guitar playig, or lay it down in an audio sequencer and use the mpc to accompany.

I put live guitar to a lot of my stuff and how I go about it is I have a triton that samples also so I will let the click run on the mpc for timing at whatever bpm I choose and sample my guitar into the triton than sample it back into the mpc...If you have a recorder like a 4-track or whatever would werk too..pz
