Installing OS 3.10 and SCSI I'VE FACKED IT UP!!!!!!!

Show me where I've gone wrong:



When I power up I get a blank screen and some of the button lights come on!!!! I'm worried I've damaged some of the chips somehow

The lead in the 3rd picture bottom right is to be left unconnected yeah?! Its too short to reach any connector anyway!!!

HELP!!!

Chip 1 aint in properly, facking t1t

Looks like you got the SCSI board on wrong, too far back, IIRC mine seems to cover the os chips more. The little short cable is supposed to connect to the other connector on the scsi Board next to the brown wire one, but make sure you didn't mix those up either, the directions tell you which goes where. You may as well check that you're OS chips are in the right order too unless you didnt just install them.

Read this and follow the directions carefully.

Make sure the os chips are pushed in all the way also. If they don't get a good connection then you will get a black screen.

Right I've adjusted chip 1 and as far a I can tell its in properly now, same symptoms though!!! The instructions are a bit crap if you ask me.....

I'll readjust the board hopefully that'll solve it

you're board is way too far back, the instructions are good, just follow them, look carefully at the pics, do you have the chips in the right order? Also, you shouldn't be powering up until you have the scsi board sorted, the little green wire needs to be right before anything will happen with the OS, I hope you didn't mess shyt up further by being imptient and powering up half finished.

Make sure the chip's notch is correct too.

did you not read about the 2 hexagonal spacers? you need to remove the screws on the lower part of the board and install them there then put the scsi board on them, thats why you're joint is too far back.

You can clearly see in the diagram that the scsi board top edge is below the first chip of the OS, man, people PLEASE BE PATIENT AND TAKE THINGS SLOW!!!!

I'm not known for my patience, but I've done a few upgrades and that was the wackest ever.... Your going to tell now I have to take it all aprt to wack the RAM in I'm getting at the end of the month....
