I've been searching for the past half hour on how to do this and I can't find nuthin. I have an old synth, a juno 106, and I wanted to know how can lay down a lead on track 1 and then a bass on 2 I have the midi cables connected correctly to the mpc2000xl. I don't know if my synth is capable of doing it.

man if your synth has midi ins/outs on the back then it should be capable. what kind of mpc you got?

i got the 2000. you gotta change the track on the mpc from DRUM to MIDI then select the midi channel you want to use. your synth gotta be on the same channel as the mpc. so track one on the mpc should say MIDI:1a or something similar...

The 2k doesn't have that option but Smoove's right. You have to change the track from drum to midi.
