HOW DO I USE MY MPC2000xl WITH FRUITY LOOPS?

a friend gave me an mpc200xl se1 and compressor as a gift. i already hav a mixer and a mic and speakers etc. but i use fruity loops and i dont know how to use my mpc with fruity loops. i did try usin midi but fruity loops never recieved anything from da mpc....i put da midi cable in da 'A' out port on da mpc and i put da other end into the in port of my soundcard. what am i doin wrong? am i ment 2 use midi or not?

Try using the search function on this site. Thousands have already asked this question.

Also, try using more than 1 MIDI cable. It's gotta be going to the in and out of both the computer and your MPC 2000xl.

I've eaten "out" a lot lately and none of these mami's bought me anything as expensive as a 2000xl...

But at least I'm getting knowledge in return.

no it was given to me as an investment, da friend is actually my manager....he gave it 2 me so wen im older i cant complain if he asks for 20%.
im gonna search about da mpc with fl thing
and i'll try usin 2 midi cables
and how could i use the mpc by itself? what would i need 2 do that?

mpc midi out to pc midi in
pc midi out to mpc midi in

i guess that will work. never tried it before....

to use the mpc by itself, all you'll really need is a pair of monitors/speakers and some sounds! i would recommend you get some kind of storage device like zip drive or harddrive, too. but i guess that comes later?

Ive done the "handshake" method.....fruityloops is still not gettin any signal from da mpc....can any1 help?......if not ......f**k fruity.....im gonna buy a sound module and a new keyboard and make beats on dat. Any1 sellin any of those items?

i think it doesnt make sense to use the mp with FL. outside the sampling feature they both have the same use.

if you post what you are trying to achieve by syncing them together maybe we can take it from there. otherwise i would suggest a USB midi controller for FL.

sometimes when i use FL, i normally sample something on the MP, chop it up save it to WAV on a zip then bring it over to the pc open it up and drag it into FL.

let us know what you want to do.
