We got Robbed!!!!!

Not really, but I just heard the promo Copy of AZ's new Album, and when I heard track 4 I was like :shock: I heard a beat that we had in the can for about 4 years now. I recently re-did it on the MPC1000. Man this sucks. I can't tell you how many times this has happed to us. A big one was Dipset "You oughta know" but what ever... At least this lets us know that we are on the right track and a little ahead of our time. Well anyway here it is...

ok, both of you used the same sample. go back and flip it a different way.....that all

No they didn't steal it it's just the same sample... I'm just kicking ourselfves in the a$$ for sitting on it, when we could of sold it. I guess we thought we were safe because the sample was so obscure that we thought we would never hear it. Anyway I think the AZ version sucks!

That's the thing about samples....whoever comes out with it first "discovered" it. They have the Majors behind them to push that shyt out , ya dig? You just gotta dig deeper and hope that your are more obsure than the next man.

No it was some really obscure various artist album from some defunkt label from the 70's. Not sure of the name of the band

there was some research done in the 70s with college students taking exams that suggested that once one person has had an idea it's more likely that other people will have the same idea too

sounds a bit cosmic i know, some kind of 'cultural transmission' although the mechanism was never explained, it was proper science, not crank stuff

there's also that whole notion of 'six degrees of separation', take any two random people and you can connect them in 6 steps

AZ's version was better.. your version lacked depth.. the main sample was too thin... but i liked the drums

so what is the problem in not makin a better song now ?
or does your world crash when you try to make samples of your own instead of getting it from someone else.
