A few questions on using my 1k with my Mac

Hey! I have a Mac G4 Powerbook and I recentlly purchased an MPC 1k. Now I've been using my MPC mainly as my sampler/sequencer then just tracking the audio into Pro Tools from my media cards. I want to explore use more software and eliminating things such as my turntable and mixer. Here are a couple questions I got....

1) Are there any software sequencers that let me use my MPC to sequence but uses the sounds from my computer?

2)Which sequencers are best used with programs like sampletank 2xl and NI Komplte 2, as far as using them as VST Instruments?

I think i figured it out before i finished the post lol!!!! Is this essetianly what I do? Use Reason as slave and MPC as master, pick sounds in sounds channels in reason, make sure i set them on MPC the same, then bag out on MPC, then rewire reason to PT and track out to PT? Does this make any sense?

Yep that makes sense, but getting rid of your turntable/mixer doesn't. I think Live is a good vst host and can be controlled with your mpc and rewired to pt too, but Cubase is probably the best vst host.

Well because now if I use my mpc to make a beat I just ressample everytrack then send it to my media card muting the other tracks. The I take all the tracks from my media card and track to PT. This is for when im sampling, most of my samples are MP3's anyway. The method I had the question about I want to use mainly when im not sampling and playing the beat out, and since I would be using Midi interfaces I would no longer need a turntable to mixer. Correct me if I'm wrong.

My only problem with cubase is the studio i do most of my mixing it has pT systems. There anyway I can use cubase for my VST sequenceing needs then track out to PT? I do understand that cubase handles VST better than anything out there.

maybe you can rewire it, but I doubt protools and cubase would run together on the same computer. I don't use vst's so I'm not sure, but I thought pt can host vst's now. is that wrong?

My doubt about getting rid of your mixer and turntable would be for getting samples into your mpc... but it sounds like you're not really using it for that anyways. A turntable and mixer still seem vital for a setup to me, but whatever floats yer boat.
