Proteus 2000 or Roland JV1010

I am looking at purchasing one or the other. Does anyone use any of these? Which one would you suggest?

I buy EMU products myself however, The questtion really boils down to how you feel as far as expansions. If the expansion options sway you to cop the Proteus 2000. Then the Proteus2500 might be a better purchase for you. It's bassically the 2000's upgrade with an added on board sequencer with 3 additional expansion slots. The 2000 also has two expasnsion slots left to fill. Sorry I can't give some input on the Roland I don't work with those to frequent.

The prices are lower than they were last year. Especially used. So you could get one for around $300 or $400

The Proteus has 3 xtra xpansion slots , the jv 1010 has like one, so in the end you can have more sounds with the proteus if you copped an expansion or too. Both have good sound quality, so you really need to go to GC and listen to them side by side to see which one sounds better or has the most sounds you might use. I would probably go more for the proteus than the 1010 , thats just my personal preference. Good Luck
