Pete Rock's Wah-Wah's

If you listen to Pete Rock, then you know that he uses the wah-wah effect a lot. I was listening to "Get Involved" off of PeteStrumentals the other day and I noticed that the wah-wah wasn't going at a consistent rate. It would go fast, then slow, then really slow, etc. (Basically, it was all over the place).

Here is a 30 second preview of the song so that you can undersatnd what I am talking about. Listen to the whole 30 seconds: "Get Involved"

I am using Sound Forge for my wah-wah's, and I want to know how I can imitate the wah-wah in that song in Sound Forge, (or anywhere).

i got one for my guitar, but never tried it with the mpc...

he's probably using the budda wha fx pedal.

maybe PR uses something that's midi automatable

otherwise he couldn't get the wahs even and in tempo while maintaining that level of manual control

vox wahs are supposed to sound the best tho as far as the str8 analog ones

i bet an electrix filter factory or mfc 42 could take care of most of that stuff right?

im sure its a pedal. i dont see any software perfectly imitating a pedal that you control with your foot...

mos definitley a guitar pedal

i'm pretty sure you can change the effects setting for each step in step edit mode. maybe he switched up the effect setting every few steps or some shit. just a thougt.

Id bet a whole lotta money that he's not using an "effect" at all, sounds to me like hes playin with the filter cutoff in real time(although he could have automated it as well)

he's using a guitar pedal.

A Wah is a pedal that contols the filter cutoff. A filter is an effect.

I've got a crybaby that I use on distorted organ, it's awesome.

smoove is right even with reduced latency you wont get the resonsiveness from a real pedal- vox, morley, jim dunlop are the pedals to look at...

also autowah stuff is good if you can change the rate
