Help a Rookie out!!! (2 Questions)

Yeah MPC heads, my freakin MPC 2000 manual is in all Japanese since I bought it in Tokyo, so I gotta learn all the basics hands-on. My studio setup is listed in my signature, so you know what I'm workin with.
My questions are how can I sample from a CD player??? What cord do I need etc.

ALso, if I had a turntable, will the MPC read it as a Midi controller such as my keyboard or do I gotta sample the sounds like you would with a guitar.

you gotta sample the sounds off the tt, thru some sort of pre-amp (like a dj mixer)

to sample from cd player get the connect from the cd player (RCA or headphone) to dual 1/4 inch cables and plug it up to the ins.

learn japanese.

I think you can download the manual in Pdf format form akai's website. i am pretty sure I have done that before. Just open with Acrobat Reader and you can print out what you need. If i recall right it is www.akaipro.com , if not it is listed as a link on the forums links . Good luck .

I speak japanese but can't read it at all. TOO MANY characters to remember. Not even an old greyhaired Japanese man can read EVERY character of Japanese.
