Which mpc????

Hi i am gonna buy an mpc soon but i am confused as to which one to get.
the ones i am looking at are the mpc 1000 and the 2000xl.

the thing that confuses me the most is that the 2000xl does not have usb so how would you go about importing a sample from a cpu's hd to the 2000xl? i know this should be done via scsi but i have had trouble getting hold of a scsi card for mac in the past with my s2000.

wihich one do you guys think would suit me best? bearing in mind that i want an mpc to almost eliminate making music on computer sequencers
i only want to use my computer to act as a standalone hd for samples and to mix down the results from the mpc.

if you work that much with software and the computer maybe the 1000 would be easier for you?

but its not hard to get samples from the computer to mpc. i have two zip drives. one is scsi for the mpc and one is USB for the computer. i just take the disk out of the one connected to the mpc and put it in the drive connected to the computer. and transfer files that way. its easy. the drives were pretty cheap on ebay.com

its easy either way you do it. but if you want to use the 2000xl, i suggest getting two zip drives. one for the mpc and one for the computer. i use my mpc to make the beats. i dont use the computer for that. and my mpc2000 does a good doing it. i only use my computer to store samples and edit my music like you want to do....but if you want to eliminate the computer, go with the 2000xl and get you a few zip drives...

Then get the 2000xl. The 1000 is pretty much made to go hand-in-hand with a PC, hence the USB. It also doesn't have as much sample editiing features, so if you don't want to use the PC for that, even more of a reason to get the XL.

Actually, you can't do that with the MPCs (at least not the 2000xl). Just use a card reader or zip drive (or CD-ROM).

I agree also with the previously posters. Also check out the links below and read up on both to make sure u know exactly which one will fit your needs.
