I thought I'd just drop this since I am experiencing it right now.
You ever have those golden gems that you can listen to several different times and find more and more dope loops that you over looked before. I sheet you not I am listening to this record that with each track I could make a full length album on. That's 4 albums, it's just so def. I'm sure you guys have this type of thing going on a lot, I just can't believe my ears sometimes when I hear this beautiful music. It makes it that much more special when you can take the samples and flip em to make something as well.

yeah those r great records, those r the ones i try not to put away and a new pile starts to form from that one, and so on and so on and so on.....
til you have this huge phucken wall of records you wish you can hear them ALL AT THE SAME TIME but you can't cause your head will blow up from to much music input at one time.

damn i need to have breakfast i'm getting dillerious.

oh man Clive Taylor International is probably the premier jazz label of the 70's battling with Bluenote for sure. The one record I was listening to in particular is from a different label, but still sends you on that journey. 1-4 zipped, that would be ill to burn to a CD and listen to when I am driving. I don't even own 2-4, they haven't popped up at the dig spots yet..i stress yet. Hubert Laws is one of my fav.

Ren I feel you on the Laws...I got a gang of Hubert Laws, Ronnie Laws, Bob James, Bobbi Humphrey records and tons more that I ain't never got a chance to check in depth. Ohh the pains of working in a record store on weekends. Got crates and crates and crates and crates of vinyl in storage.

"CTI" or "CREED TAYLOR INTERNATIONAL" was Special for 2 MAIN REASONS.....................................

1st The Obvious the SICK Roster of Players........Bob James, Herbie Hancock, Hubert Laws, Ron Carter, Steve Gadd, Grover Washington, The Brecker Bros., Deodato and MORE!!!!!!!!!!!....Jus' Sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:P :P :P :P

2ndThe Method --- They Often would Give the Music to The Players on the tracks have them take it home and then return to Catch THE WHOLE PIECE ON DA FIRST TAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This IS Why Some of those tracks Sound Sooooo Fluent and UNcoached because that's how they were CAPTURED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CTI IS JUS' SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MPC4000XL....absolutely spot on dude!!!

'Creed' Taylor International...& yup....they just geot str8 to it & that uncoached fluency you spoke of is quite evident!!!!

SLT, I love the Laws Brothers, Brecker bros, Bobbi Humphrey & many others.....Wicked Label!!!!

WDJ....Big ups to you on the Respects....thanks dude!!!!

Often time...if u actually read the credits closely on those rekids....ALL the same players appear ALL the TIME....they LIVED together in the studios man!!! Thats why the music of that time for the most part, whilst still individually original, still had that Recognisable quality & signature....

Same mix engineers/Arrangers/ Vocalists & players....even down to the same Instruments...

The result....music we still fiend for today!!!

If you wanna check what i mean...catch any 70's record with the CTI/Blue Note labels....its even more evident if you listen to rekids with the 'Mizzell' Brothers names on...no, not from Run DMC but the Original Mizzells...Fonce & Larry...on Donald Byrd or Johnny Hammond Records!!!

Just ask MPC4KXL...he knows wot time IZ IT!!!!!
