CF Flash and WinXP

Whats Good!?

I been tryin to find some information on accessing Flash cards from WinXP. (Yes i did search the forum first!!) I have not purchased an MPC yet. I am still thinkin about what to go for.

Can i transfer Wav files straight through windows explorer to a Flash Disk and then load them up in the MPC straight ? or is is not as simple as i think it is ??

How safe are these CF files, data loss?

The flash cards are great for reliability. I use compactflash cards cuz they are sturdier and hold more in gigabytes.

You can use them to transfer samples to and from PC to MPC. Your just have to format the card in the PC first.

They only way you can corrupt the files is by removing the flash cards while loading or saving is in progress. Extremely reliable.

I read a test in a computer magizine lately where they tested the reliability of cf cards.

They froze the things to -20 for a couple of hours --> No data loss.
Put them in an oven 100 degrees celcius ---> No data loss.
Drove over the card with a family car ---> no data loss.
Card in a washingmachine ---> no data loss.
Microwave the shit ---> no data loss.
Read write test ----> They stopped after 35000 read write cycles, 'cauze there still was no trace of data loss.

You try to do all of the above with a floppy of a zip disk

SO ALL I GOTTA DO IS PUT THE WAV FILE ONTO THE FLASH AND I CAN READ IT ON THE MPC

MAKES THE MPC An even more DANGEROUS WEAPON than it is !!!!!!
