If I'm guessing right, I used to have this happen to me when I first got my XL. You prolly have all the programs you wanted loaded, but everytime you load a new one, it takes the place of whatever one you had currently selected. Go to the program screen. See how it says DRUM1 DRUM2 DRUM3 DRUM4. Those are your four programs. If you got DRUM1 selected and you load a new program, the new program becomes DRUM1. So pick DRUM2 and then scroll through the programs, repeat these steps til you have 4 different programs, one in each. Then, when you want to use each program in the main screen, just highlight DRUM 1 and change it to another. I hope this is the problem, otherwise I might just be insulting your intelligence
