Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

hi,
i tried the "create new folder" command with a pc formatted zip, and mpc said "scsi error" and everything i had saved on the zip, including .midi, .aps, .all, and all but a few .wav files are now gone. is there any way to recover anything? i have an internal scsi zip drive, i had the other type (atpi?)installed for a few years, then one day, i turned on the mpc, went to load, got the "wait" message for a long time then it said "no disk" . i checked all internal connections, but nothing helped, so i put the scsi zip in a few weeks ago. since then i have got "no scsi device" a few times when i switch from my external scsi hard drive back to the internal zip, but if i turn off mpc, it will show up again. im thinking about installing a card reader, but im beginning to wonder it it may be something internal to mpc causing it to not see whatever type of zip i have installed. anyone run across similar problems?
thanks,
mpa

Welcome to the "crappy iomega product" center. Feel free to look through the archives and brush up on the horror stories of people losing all their work that was stored on Zip.

i have the standard 2000 with a 250mb external zip. never had problems. save .all and .aps files and you're good.
