how do i check to see if i have scsi/memory upgrade???

i am wondering haow to check to see if i have scsi and the memory upgrade? i just received my mpc60 today!!!!!

Sounds > 5, with no sounds loaded, change the time to the highest number you can go, if 26, you have full memory, if 13, you need the memory upgrade.

hit disk > 8, if you have 4 options you have SCSI (& 3.10 OS) if only 2, you don't have scsi.

when you turn it on the MPC should state the OS version.

i have tryed that and it doesnt seem to work? it just goes up to 4.9

i have opened up my mpc60 i see the marion name right above where the version chips are located

you seem to have it. Do it with no sounds loaded. Power it up with no disk in the drive then try it.

is there a flat cable going to the back of the machine from the marion board?

when i go to sound>5 it is the assign outs?? am i doing something wrong? i have not installed the v3.10e yet would that make a difference? Should i install or should i pay someone to do it?

Yes,

No disk in drive, switch it on, read the screen, it should say Roger Linn something 3.1 or some shit, remember that and tell me what it says.

then press the SOUNDS button, the press the 5 number, move the cursor to the top left habd corner, move it to the number of seconds, scroll the jog wheel all the way clockwise until the numbers don't change. That's your sample time, 26.2 is what you are going for.

Then Press DISK, then 8, you should have 4 menu options if your SCSI is installed correctly, if you have 2, it isn't installed right.

do the menus change when you install the the v3.10e?

when your in the sounds menu what is the 5 supposed to say? and when your in disk mode what is 8 supposed to say? mine says disk>8 copy floppy, and in sounds menu it 5 says assign mix outs, is this correct? i have not installed my v3.10 yet? i reaaly need to see if it has the memory upgrade and the scsi?

OK, you Don't have 3.10, you've got the older Marion board. I am not familiar with this much, So you'll have to ask someone else how to use it.

I think this board works with the 3.10 os, so you may save some money on fully maxing it out.

OK, go to sounds and select sample (whatever number it is. )

I think the older OS have a limit on max sample time for one sample. SO sample the max you can sample a few times and see when the time rolls off.

im not positive but i think i read somewhere that "version 2.14 is the only version that shipped with SCSI" if this is true and if you do have the model that shipped with SCSI, you got a good a@# deal on that since the SCSI from ROGER LINN is $300 seperately!!!
