I'm trying to use my mpc as the master and have the xr's tempo match up with the mpc's. this is how I got it set up:

midi controller out to mpc in
mpc out to xr in
mpc in to xr out.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

The FXR should sync to MIDI by default. (I think it came that way!)
You have to force the FXR to not except MIDI clock (for arpeggios, chords).
You can also manually set the clock too! This is good if you want to use arpeggios but sync effects to the MPC1000 BPM.
All of this is in the main system menu's.
No offense but a very quick FXR manual read would have told you this.
Besides change patches knowing how to use the main system settings should be as familiar to you as turning the FXR on. The FXR interface is pretty incredible for it's size and available buttons.
The manual is quite good in my opinion. Keep it by the throne or bedside table. So many goodies to discover.
Bottom Line: yes it can be done and it's in the manual.
If this doesn't help, I'll post a step-by-step later when I'm actually in front of it.

I think I got it but I'll mess around with it a little bit more. I'm trying to get the tempo to sync so that samples will stretch to fit the tempo. I got my xr used and it didn't come with a manual and reading the pdf form of the manual is a little tedious, but I think I found it. Thanks.
