damn hiss

i got my input source set 2 analog when im sampling sounds from my keyboards...but every thing i sample comes out with hiss on it..i got my gain knob turned all the way down and still have this problem...i wanna kno if this is normal cuz i bought a zip disk from this other famous online sample company...and all them drums on that disk had a lil hiss on em 2...infact only time i never get hiss is when i sample from my dvd player...

It could be the way you have your connections setup or your cables might be shit.

Could be the keyboards. Try turning the volume all the way off on the keys. If your hiss goes away, it's prolly the keyboards. If it doesn't, then unplug the cable from the keys. If the hiss now stops, it's prolly the cable. If the Hiss still doesn't go away, try turning down the Record Gain on the MPC (or whatever your sampling onto).

Slap a GATE on it that will def quiet the hiss

no it wont/ youll still get hiss on the part that you sample

Use Sound Forge or Whatever Editor and Remove that Hiss!!!!

Just tell everyone you bounce all your samples to tape for that authentic tape sound and the hiss is part of the gritty real sound you're going for.
