Whats the deal, new to the forum...just a question.

I gripped a MPC 2000, I'm using an external zip drive through SCSI. For some reason it won't recognize the drive ID, so I can't save or load shit...what am I missing...any help would be peachy.

on the back of the zip drive, set the ID to 5. on the mpc, make sure its also set on SCSI-5

good lookin the reply 0tre...however, I've done that, on all accounts it throws SCSI READ ERROR, or, SCSI NOT READY...hmmm

it might sound like im being sarcastic or tryna play you, but im serious. man sometimes its a simple solution

i cant see why it would give you an error unless the drive itself is not compatible with the mpc.

i found out all scsi drives are not compatible.....even though its an scsi drive

I take your answer pretty seriously. It's definelty on, does the SCSI termination have to be off/on...I have it set to id five on the SCSI drive...got anything else you could throw at me...once again, good lookin at the reply

Term should be ON
SCSI ID should be 5
"SCSI not ready" usually means you don't have a readable disk in it.
(Either no disk, or a wrong format, or a corrupted disk. )

Try waiting a sec for the zip to read the disk, then hit load again. Are you using a 250 disk in a 100 drive? That won't work either. Does you MPC recognize the zip drive (will be listed as a HARDDRIVE in the save/load screen)? Ummm, do you have a different disk to try? If the disk is new, reformat it (on a PC f you can, format FAT or FAT16) and see if that works. Thats all I got.

yea true that cause a 250 disk wont work in the zip100....

i agree with crusher, but after that i dont think your drive is compatible....
