memory expansion

I have 272megs in my 4000,and I was thinking of getting a 256 card. Would my unit recognize the card since it would take me over the 512 limit? Thanks.

Yeah, the mpc4k has an onboard 16MB which will be deactivated when adding max RAM (512MB). You now have a 256MB onboard plus the onboard 16MB.
