help me, please

i have just switched off my mpc for the first time, and when i switch it back on again, it no make any noise...........?????????help me i can't work it out?

good picture. blunted with a beat junkie eh. when i go to load the friggin sounds, and it says 'play, discard, keep' when in play there ain't no sound. aaaaagggggggghhhhhhhhhhh help - it was making noise when i turn it off.............................

Everything plugged in? If you've checked all the power, levels, and connections on your gear then I don't know what it could be. Its happening to all files? What if you plug a pair of headphones in and see if you get sound through there?

thankyou. me being a girl. sorted. didn't push a button in on my mixer. now i have a new problem.
when i go to load my sounds how do i remeber which pads they were assigned to so that my sequence plays correctly? i just spent ages assigning them to new notes and my sequence plays funny..............

now i've lost all the effects i put on each pad.....there's gotta be a way of it remembering right!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to save your programs. It sounds like you're already saving the sequences (.MID file (one sequence) or .ALL file (all sequences and songs)) You just need to save the program that the sequence uses. You can either save individual programs (.PGM) or All Programs and Sounds (.APS). The latter will save all programs you got loaded (you can have up to 4 loaded at a time) and will load them all up in one go. A good tip is to name your programs the same as your sequences, and save them in the same folder so you know what goes with what.

Saving programs is in the manual. P158.

What effects? What mpc are you using?

Those settings are all adjusted in the Programs screen on the mpc (apart from tune which can also be messed with in Trim mode). You weren't saving your programs... so all that info was lost. So yeah, all those settings are saved inside the .pgm/.aps files when you save the programs. If you want to keep those settings, you gotta save your programs.

ok cool. saved by the skin of my teeth - somehow i managed to save most of them in a .aps. my last question for you ...(she says.......) now it's all back and happy, can i take out the zip disk, insert a new one and save only the important things? (ie will they still be in the mpc if i take the disc out?- i have a memory board in it but i think that it or the disk itself is pretty **** full.....)

Nothing wrong with do that. Thats how I do backups of some of my files. When you load files from your zip - sounds, sequences, whatever - they all get loaded into the mpc's ram. You can eject and insert disks as much as you want... the files will still be there, and accessible from the ram. But as soon as turn the mpc off, everything in the ram reset.

just when i thought that was last question to you. it wasn't. so now when i skip to an unused sequence it comes up with an error window -
"error at 0000:7C04" and when i press any button it comes up with a long list of numbers and letters........**** this machine is hard work. i'm sure once i crack it i'll be laughing!!!!maybe this relates to my last question in that, if i turn it off turn it on again, load what i need and save to a new zip disk, the problem won't occur....sorry for being long.thankyou so much for your help dude, i dunno who or where you are but for a small gal stuck in the middle of the night on her own in the middle of the city you ARE A SAVIOUR!THANKYOU.

I've never had a error message like that myself. I think all the '0000:####' errors are related to the memory in some way. First thing you would do is turn the mpc off and on again and see if it still happens. If it does, try loading up the .ALL and .APS files and save them in another folder or somewhere (i.e. don't overwrite the existing files). Then try loading the new files and see if you still get the error.
