Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

is there a safe shut-down procedure for this thing? i just got mine.......was wondering - can i just power it down in the back - no big deal or is there some method or order i should follow?

i have been ck'ing this site too searching for an answer to the question - searched google too - which is actually how i found this site

thats why i asked - i didnt see anything on it so i figured i'd post just to be sure

oh yeah - midicase - i have been to that site - i found it thru a search engine - didnt know that was the same thing - it only took me directly to the mcp2000xl page

I cover my MPC up at night and read bedtime stories to it. My MPC loves Peter Pan. Then I tuck my MPC in to sleep, that usually turns my MPC off and $he goes to sleep.

My MPC loves a warm glass of Milk and some cookies...

Seriously though,

I always remove the power cord....

I don't trust power surges and spikes which can all to easily ruin the internals of expensive audio gear...Not to mention Lightning Strikes on your house which ruined the first computer I ever bought...!!!!

Good point! Surge supressors won't stop many lightning strikes. Get a UPS and try to remove the power cord when a storm is coming or if one is forecast for that day when you will be away from home.

All my equipment is well protected but I once had a couple minor things damaged by a lightning strike a few years ago. They were plugged into a surge supressor.

heck I dont shut anything off, if the gear gets uppity I sock it once and say "pop goes the weasel"
