If a guy is fixing your beats in logic then you aint really makin shyt. the bulk of the work my ass! unless sampling 8 bars of old tracks and copying someone's style is the bulk of the work, which you know isn't even him alone, you know he asks his engineer how to get producer X's sound. If you really a producer you aren't gonna steal drums from another producer, you'll bang out your own style. Doing it is an admission that you can't do it yourself.

i think the album is hella dope the whole way through. imma get jumped on by somebody on the board, but yall hate on kanye so much. i aint nobody and im an amature so this next statement applies to me too: yall bitchin n all, but look at us, we on a forum talkin bout how weak he is and how he only loopin 8 bars, and that man is on mtv. the fool got the cover of time magazine! if he is factory made, then dammit, i wanna be factory made AND paid. i listened to the album and the original samples track for track and yeah he didnt do that much extra to the samples and i feel like "damn i coulda did that", but the fact is i didnt. and yes i love music and the artform and yadayada, but id like to get a lil monetary compensation for the long azz hours i put in just like the rest of us would like to do. yeah the boy is "milkin it" and "industry", but fuk it, he on tv and we just some screen names on a forum. instead of hatin on the dude,get ya game up. and madlib is hella weak...now what?

damn, are yall in this for the music or the pride? dope music is dope music regardless of how many hands were in the pot. jon brion co-produced the whole album with kanye and did most of the musical arrangements (ie. chord progressions, playing keyboards) but it was still kanye's vision & he still had a hand in making the beats & lyrics.

yall gonna be in for a big slap in the face if you ever get on, cause folks'll have a huge target on your back when you're on top. all this he say/she say bs is just that, until proven beyond doubt.

besides, it ain't like kanye's not giving credit here, he's admitted that he and Rhymefest have a business relationship, he gave Brion co-production credit for the whole album, he put Evidence's name on the Last Call beat on CD, etc. Are there others who contributed that never got credit? I have no doubt, but that's the same way he got put on under D-Dot.

let the haters hate, and the d!ckriders ride, but at the end of the day, it's what comes out of the speakers that'll be heard loudest.

It's weak music, I don;t like it and even the parts that are somewhat good get ruined because he has no business on the mic! I'm supposed to support him because he's black and rich and because you think I wanna be there? come on now.

Kanye says his album is not competing with hip hop but with songs in the key of life! You buy that? You think it's that good? Well then he talks trash I can talk trash. it's still publicity for him either way so he ain;t gonna be mad at me.

yo it's flamin up the streets over here and spreadin like crazy, sometimes spanish people got weird tastes, but the market is huge, NYC already got 2 radio stations playin it non stop, if hip hop looses the streets it's just gonna be some kenny G yuppie shyt for young urban professionals who like diamonds and hearing the same song 8 times an hour.

Once anything gets so animated it starts becoming a parody of its former self it's all bad news and downhill from there. It's the lack of balance that killed it. I'd have no problem with the commercial stuff if I could hear good stuff side by side. But with the industry structure and the radio and labels lookin out for each other this was inevitable.

As far as Kanye, I haven't heard the whole joint, but from what I have heard - BIG DEAL!! For a man that talks that much sh*t about what he deserves and the rest of the cry-baby routine, his albums simply aren't amazing. If you look at it from a hustle perspective, dudes got it locked, but musically and creatively I think we all know producers in our repsective regions (including ourselves) that make just as good if not better music. I don't really remember Prince, MJ, etc. complaining about what they deserve. If you gonna play superstar producer and all that I better get goosebumps when I hear your sh*t. 5000

Just to clarify I wasn't bashing him for his arrangement with Rhymefest. The point I was trying to make is that before I found that out (waaay before it hit the net/news), I was a lil naive in thinking that cats (in this case Kanye) did it all themselves. Without any help or assistance.

the album is dope it's so different then any thing out hes very talented and yes of course he has help but listen back to when he didn't have so much help like tracks like - this can't be life, the truth, good to you, home.
kanye has bridged a gap from people like us who care about the music and how it's made to the mainstream audienceand he always gives us something to talk about cause i count how many topics have been about him.

i swear the problem is folks on here get too damn technical and forget about the music. his album sounds tight no matter how many folks "helped out". when/if i blow up, ima crack up when a person nitpicks at me. "oh, he didnt make the components in that mpc, some factory worker in japan did" "he actually had about 5 websites that he got drum samples from", lol
