When I load samples into my XL, the sounds are too loud and when I demo samples when trying to load the samples are too loud. BUT when I play them on the pads (velocity, I know) the sounds are a lot lower?? Even hitting the pads at full velocity the samples aren't too loud. BUT when I use FULL it is too loud and distorted like when the samples are previewed in the load window? Any suggestions, I do use a Mixer and Muli-track recorder, but the levels are not distorting???

Go into your mixer menu hit set up and change the master out to 6db.

Thanks a MiL! Haven't tinkered with the mixer yet. Too busy jamming!

My advice is that you get a multi track mixer (external) like a mackie 16 track or so, and use your 8 outs. Of course, you have to have the expansion on your machine already, but this makes it very nice for the final mix. I run my stereo main outs to a stereo channel, and the I run whatever I need to adjust to a seperate channel. This way you can EQ your channels seperately, and then add additional effects where needed through my auxillary fx input
