just want to see who uses the mixer in the mpc2kXl. (shift+7)


how do you use it ?

can you connect an outside source such as a effects processor midi to it, how would you do this.

do you need a eb-16 to work it?

As well as the 8 outs and setting the effects send levels.

I use it everytime I use my MPC, I use it to tune up my drums, effects, samples, etc...peace

yeah i use it to make my sounds louder or to turn down the sounds,

but how can i use the efx part do i have to have the eb16 card or can i use a processor.

yeah you have to have the FX board to use it.

is there a way around this , my be hooking up some outboard efx

If you have the multiple outs you could dedicate a set of outputs as your efx sends then hook a dedicated efx unit up to them and use them as efx sends...

or cop 8 external efx processors and send each out into an external efx unit...

or cop a mixer with aux sends (prefered option) and hook up your mpc to the mixer and your external efx to the aux sends and returns on the mixer!!!!

You can see why the 8 ouputs is a nasty little thing to add...pitty its so expensive eh...

Really, you got hit a pad to highlight it then use the wheel to change the params, it's easy. What exactly are you trying to do, be more in depth with your situation and then the troubleshooting can begin..

You gotta use the mixer function. It's awesome. Only works on internal samples though. I wish it worked on external devices. If you have the effects or the 8 outs it makes a big difference. Check it out.

yeah what these guys said...i use it all the time, and it is essential for using the 8 outs effectively...

i had my bd's going out of out 1 going into its own channel with compression and eq, out 2 for snare, 3-4 for stearo drums and hats...still have four left all other elements plus the stereo outs...

plus the movements can be recorded....essential!

Well, I'd like to tweak my sounds to make the bassline louder, hi-hats lower, you know, make it sound even. I don't know if I need a mixer or what..the learning process used to really upset me, but I said to myself I'll just keep going and plugging away and doing what I can, and eventually the answers will come.
