Talk and share knowledge on rare records, sources of new samples, vinyl, diggin, etc

at this thrift store in the glass case they had an auction for some comic book records. i got a 7" spiderman, superman, metmorphoman, 2 star trek's i bid $8 for all records. a week later i got the call, boy was i relieved. i was worried because i should have bid $20. where i lived at the time i knew the few Dj's in the area where not on the up and up and only shoped at the hiphop shop for the latest hillbilly breaks or dj rectangle etc. and basically no one was producing or hardcore diggin in thrift stores.

these records are rare dope scratch and vocal tidbit records from the 1970's im sure there are very few left because there for kids and there all probably broken or scratched to hell by now and there parents back in the day threw them out after they got ruined. the ones i got were in good condition no skipping or bad popping. plus there 7" you can scratch mad fast with these little gems really good for faster bpm beats.

one ill sample is an anouncer voice saying "i intrupt this program to bring you a special news bulletin. then i drop a sick beat with sample behind it.

I have almost all of those Power Records/Peter Pan Records with the Super Heroes.

Batman
Superman
Spider-Man
Hulk
Wonder Woman

I don't have many of the 7" ones though. The 7" ones are just single stories from the 12s which have like 4-5 stories on them. I saw a 7" one on eBay a while ago that had The Flash and Aquaman together on it but I didn't win the auction. I've never seen it before or since then anywhere.

I'm really into comic books so I've been collecting these for a while. I have a lot that aren't even opened too.

By the way, it's not the same label as the other ones, but I have a Flash Gordon story record with a cool drum break on it. I forgot the title of the record but I know the song name it's "Rock and Roll Zombie".

Kinda. I have so many things that I want to do with it. I don't want to put all my ideas down here for anyone to copy (not that I think anyone's really going to) but I can't decide exactly how I want to do it.

I've been busy doing other stuff so I haven't started too much on it yet.

only one I got is a near mint conan album... its from 76 i believe, have to recheck, i've sampled some stuff, haven't reall sat down and scooped the whole record.. basically its like 4 different stories. I've seen the 45's on ebay with maybe 1 or 2 on each, this one is like a compelation of the 45's that I believe came with comics...

I'm always looking for more..

snagged this one in a fleemarket in mass and a crate of other records for 2 dollars about 4 years ago.. Sad thing about that was, I left about 15 of those records at my girls house, and her parents chucked um..

someone was looking to buy it from me awhile back on here, never got back to me... I've seen it for around 20 on ebay...

I have a few that I can sell. They're not in the best condition. I think they are still good for sampling though.

I have extras of Batman and Superman ones.
